Is your question not listed or you simply want a direct answer, then please contact us. We will answer all your questions and it is entirely non-committal. You may, of course, call us, but when you prefer a contact through email, you may send us your question by using our contactform.

Question 1: What is Mangosteen?
The mangosteen (Garcinia Mangostana) is a tropical fruit which is considered to be one of the finest tasting fruits in the world and which has earned the popular title “Queen of Fruits." The smooth, thick, dark purple peel contains antioxidants, the “xanthones”, and covers the fruit, which consists of 4 up to 8 triangular elements of a ropy, snow-white pulp.

Question 2: Why have we never heard of the mangosteen fruit before?
Mangosteen was unknown in the US or Europe because of its required ultra-tropical growing conditions. One of the few places it does grow in the States is in Hawaii, where it is very expensive. Occasionally gift companies will ship frozen mangosteen for use in exotic gift baskets. These companies charge a premium price for the fruit. Also, unlike most fruits that are harvested several times a year, mangosteen is available only 2 times each year, making it more expensive and more difficult to come by.

Question 3: What makes the mangosteen so special?
What makes the mangosteen so special? For centuries the traditional people of India, China, Malaysia, Thailand the Philippines and Vietnam have employed Mangosteen for its beneficial properties. In the last 150 years the plant has been transported to Africa, the Caribbean, Australia and South America for its protective properties.

Question 4: Is the mangosteen related to the mango?
No. Except for a similarity in the name, the two fruits are very different. The mangosteen comes from the rare Garcinia genus of plants. The mango can grow outside of the tropics, but the mangosteen can not.

Question 5: Can the mangosteen fruit be grown in Europe?
No. Several times over the past centuries, individuals have unsuccessfully tried to grow the mangosteen tree outside of the tropics.

Question 6: What are Xanthones?
While most people know about the benefits of vitamins C and E, far fewer are aware of the incredibly potent of xanthones. In nature xanthones can be found in tree-bark and in fruit. There are Approximately 200 xanthones found, the peel of the mangosteen contains 39 of these xanthones. Xanthone molecules are so strong that even after crushing or cooking the structure and functioning remains unchanged.

Question 7: Am I getting xanthones from my food?
No. The xanthone family of phytonutrients can be found in trace amounts in certain fruits and vegetables; however, the pericarp of the mangosteen is the premier source where these nutrients are found in concentrated amounts.

Question 8: What is XANGO Juice?
This is XANGO Juice? XANGO Juice is the original mangosteen beverage that captures the refreshing, sweet, tangy flavor and natural color of the mangosteen fruit. XANGO Juice’s proprietary, puree formula uses the whole mangosteen fruit, from its dark, reddish purple nutrient-dense rind to the white fleshy pulp – through which all of the mangosteen benefits are delivered as nature intended.

Question 9: Why the name “XANGO”?
XANGO derives its name from two words: Xan from xanthones andGo from mangosteen.

Question 10: Why hasn’t a mangosteen dietary supplement been brought to market before XANGO Juice?
Just like you, many people have wondered this same thing. The benefits of the mangosteen is well-known for thousands of years, and the xanthones have been the subject of extensive positive research for a very long time. But until Joe Morton and the other founders of XANGO took the steps necessary to bring this fruit and its benefits to the world, no one else saw the vision. XANGO is the original, a true category creator.

Question 11: Why are there other ingredients besides mangosteen in XANGO Juice?
While the mangosteen pericarp is rich in xanthones, it tastes very bitter. This bitter flavor can fight with the naturally delicious pulp inside the fruit. Because of this, additional natural fruit juices are blended, according to a patented formula, to create XANGO's unique taste.

Yes. XANGO is made from the whole-fruit puree of the mangosteen fruit. It is similar to eating any common fruit. Protecting the environment is important to XANGO. If only for this reason, XANGO would always use care in harvesting. But there is a practical reason, as well.
